Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") carefully before using the DragonMove Relocation Services website and services (the "Service") operated by DragonMove Relocation Services ("us", "we", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

1. Services and Booking

Service Description

DragonMove Relocation Services provides professional moving and relocation services including but not limited to:

  • Residential and commercial moving
  • Packing and unpacking services
  • Furniture disassembly and assembly
  • Storage solutions
  • Long-distance relocation
  • Specialty item moving (pianos, artwork, antiques)

Booking Process

To book our services, you must:

  1. Provide accurate and complete information about your moving requirements
  2. Agree to our estimated quote or final pricing
  3. Provide a valid payment method
  4. Sign our service agreement

Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided are estimates based on the information you provide. Final pricing may vary based on:

  • Actual weight or volume of items moved
  • Additional services requested
  • Changes to the moving schedule
  • Accessibility challenges at pickup or delivery locations
  • Additional packing materials required

Important: Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Prices are subject to change without notice for bookings made beyond this period.

2. Payment Terms

Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
  • Bank transfers
  • Cash (with limitations)
  • Certified checks

Payment Schedule

For most services, we require:

Service Type Deposit Final Payment
Local Moves 25% upon booking Balance due upon completion
Long-Distance Moves 50% upon booking Balance due before unloading at destination
Commercial Moves 30% upon booking Net 15 days from invoice date

Late Payments

Accounts not paid within the specified terms will be subject to:

  • A late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance
  • Suspension of services until payment is received
  • Possible referral to a collection agency

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing (email accepted) according to the following schedule:

  • More than 7 days before move: Full refund of deposit
  • 3-7 days before move: 50% of deposit refunded
  • Less than 3 days before move: No refund of deposit
  • Day of move without notice: Full payment of estimated cost required

Rescheduling

We understand that plans change. You may reschedule your move subject to availability:

  • First reschedule: No fee if made more than 48 hours in advance
  • Subsequent reschedules or changes within 48 hours: $100 administration fee
  • Same-day reschedules: Subject to 25% of estimated move cost

4. Liability and Insurance

Standard Liability

Our standard liability coverage is $0.60 per pound per article. This means we are liable for repair or replacement based on the weight of the damaged item, not its actual value.

Additional Valuation Coverage

For items of significant value, we offer additional valuation coverage:

Excluded Items

The following items are not covered by our liability policy:

  • Cash, securities, and financial instruments
  • Jewelry, watches, and precious stones
  • Items of extraordinary value (over $10,000 per item) unless specifically declared
  • Perishable goods
  • Hazardous materials
  • Plants and pets

5. Customer Responsibilities

As our customer, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about your moving needs
  • Ensuring safe access to both origin and destination locations
  • Securing necessary parking permits or elevator reservations
  • Being present during the packing, loading, and unloading processes
  • Properly preparing items that require special handling
  • Draining fuel from equipment and disconnecting appliances
  • Securing and backing up important documents and digital files

6. Prohibited Items

For safety and legal reasons, we cannot transport the following items:

  • Flammable or combustible materials (paint, gasoline, propane)
  • Aerosols under pressure
  • Firearms and ammunition
  • Live plants or animals
  • Perishable food items
  • Hazardous chemicals or cleaning supplies
  • Illegal substances or contraband

7. Dispute Resolution

Claims Process

If you believe any of your items were damaged or lost during the move:

  1. Notify the crew leader immediately
  2. Note the damage on the inventory sheet before signing
  3. Submit a written claim within 30 days of service completion
  4. Provide photographs of the damage and any relevant documentation
  5. Allow us 15 business days to investigate and respond

Mediation and Arbitration

If we cannot resolve a dispute through our claims process, both parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Hong Kong. If mediation fails, the dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of DragonMove Relocation Services and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both Hong Kong and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of DragonMove Relocation Services.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
